WAKEFIELD UNITED

GLEN JUNIORS
SUNDAY 21ST
OCTOBER 2007 – HOME
REDS
Despite some good
performances from the Reds, Glen Juniors proved too strong with
some long range goals. The Reds were under pressure for long
periods of the first half and ran in 4 - 1 down at half time
thanks to a speculative shot from Joel Wainwright from just inside
the oppositions half. Things picked up after a shuffle around at
half time, but unfortunately Glen Juniors capitalized on
Wakefields inability to keep the ball for long, despite the
scoreline, Keencost Kitchens Player Of The Match went to Thomas
Render for some excellent shot stopping and general bossing of his
area. A good run out against strong opposition.
BLUES
A good team performance saw a good first half
goal after some great wing play from Callum Hicks who ran the Glen
Juniors ragged with his trickery. Glen Juniors equalized despite
some strong performances throughout. Tommy Wray and William Hunt
were particularly impressive as was Jonathan Skidmore. Wakefield
Uniteds goalmouth also had some heart in mouth moments but due to
brave keeping by Oliver Windscheffel and never say die defending
from Liam Hicks the drama soon passed. Then in the final moments
Glen Juniors netted to take the win. The Keencost Kitchens Player
Of The Match went to William Hunt for an impressive performance in
a hard fought game.
