WAKEFIELD UNITED

TINGLEY TIGERS
SUNDAY 9TH MARCH
2008 – HOME
REDS
Tingley
Tigers dominated the first half of the match, which meant there
were some good saves to make for our returning goalkeeper Jay
Mullinder. Jay also worked well with the defense. Wakefield had
more possession in the second half and a few opportunities in
front of Tingley’s goal. Tyler Morton and Carcraft Man of the
Match James Harwood worked hard in Tingley’s half to create some
of those chances. The score doesn’t reflect how even the game
was.
BLUES
Wakefield
kicked off this time and were immediately up the field, a great
through pass set up one of the Tingley players who we had
borrowed to score a great goal past Tiger’s keeper. Lucas Wood
went in goals in place of Jay who took up the role of central
defender. The first half ended and Wakefield were 1 – 0 up.
Lucas was tested more in the second half of the match but held
his ground at 1 – 1 right up until the final minute of play,
when after several players from both teams were caught in the
box scrapping for the ball it found a Tingly foot and was
cleared over the goal line. Carcraft Man of the Match went to
Tyler Morton for a great all round performance working up and
down the field chasing players down and pushing the ball forward
at every possible moment.

GLEN JUNIORS

WAKEFIELD UNITED
SUNDAY 16TH MARCH
2008 – AWAY
REDS
A much better
turn out for the Under 7’s. The first half ended 2-0, however Glen
juniors settled in and started to fire them in left, right and
centre. Carcraft Man of the Match was William Skidmore for
determination and spirit and a good all round performance.
BLUES
The second game
Jay Mullinder moved out of net and into central defence where he
proved himself useful. Up the other end of the pitch a bit of space
and a great strike from Carcraft Man of the Match Tyler Morton sent
Wakefield United out in front! Following this Wakefield had a great
ten minutes of play where the everyone was working for the team.
However Glen Juniors equalized which was followed in quick
succession with several more goals.
HALL GREEN

WAKEFIELD UNITED
SUNDAY 30TH MARCH
2008 – AWAY
REDS
The match
started very convincingly for Wakefield both teams seemed evenly
matched, although Hall Green enjoyed the majority of possession in
Wakefield’s half. Hall Green was the first to score but Wakefield
leveled the playing field with a great debut goal from Lewis Smith.
The first half finished one a piece.
Although
Wakefield had the advantage of playing down hill and with the wind
in the second half all the goals went against us. Carcraft man of
the match went to Thomas Hardwick for working tirelessly up and down
the pitch.
BLUES
Wakefield worked
hard in the second game Lucas Wood coming out of goals and fitting
well into midfield alongside Tyler Morton. Lewis Smith opened the
scoring with another great goal Wakefield kept the ball in Hall
Green’s half. Plenty of opportunities meant that Wakefield should
have been 3 or 4 goals ahead by the end of the first half but it
stayed 1-0. Hall Green began to press a lot more in the second half
and Wakefield began tire . The equalizer came ten minutes in the
second half followed swiftly by another two goals.
Carcraft Man of
the Match went to Lewis Smith for an outstanding performances and a
couple of great goals.
