UPTON

WAKEFIELD UNITED
SUNDAY 7TH
OCTOBER
2007 – AWAY
Wakefield went down 9-0 away to Upton with the scoreline not
reflecting a gutsy performance by the visitors. Still unable to
field a full 11 players United gave their all with a superb effort
from the whole team. United were holding firm being only 2-0
down at half time with keeper Cameron Dye putting in a tremendous
performance but the second half saw Upton show no respite for the
weary visitors. Excellent passing and communication skills were
shown by Joe Howard, James Murphy, Robert Jukes and Robert
Bottomley with a couple of great missed chances coming from
Matthew Peel and Connor Playford. Taylor Bottomley put in a 100%
performance again as did all the lads with Bhavin Patel being
awarded the Player Of The Match award.

WAKEFIELD UNITED
SUNDAY 14TH OCTOBER 2007 - AWAY
The home side were quick off the mark scoring a couple of lucky
goals in quick succession to catch United sleeping. United again
could only manage a team of 10 so were always going to be under
pressure with one man down however Connor Playford soon got the
visitors off the mark with a cracking goal into the top corner of
the net. Jets then quickly replied although Matthew Peel hit the
scoresheet with a super goal set up by the Player of the Match
Robert Jukes. Jukes then managed to shoot and score with a
tremendous effort bringing United's tally to 3, unfortunately this
wasn't enough. When the whistle blew the final score was 9-3 to
the Jets and United were left to woe numerous missed chances.
Excellent team effort again by all the lads. The U11s are still
desperately seeking new players of every ability - contact Dave
Tolson on 01924 239109 for details.

CASTLEFORD TOWN
SUNDAY 21ST OCTOBER 2007 - HOME
With only a ten man squad once again Wakefield United U11s true
determination and spirit shone through right to the end of the
game. Debutants Lewys Irvin and Daniel Clarke both gave 110%
enthusiasm into the game with spirited performances from James
Murphy and Jake Tolson. A good effort also was shown by Robert
Jukes with superb performances from Joe Howard and player of the
match Connor Playford. The obvious one man down left a way
through for visitors Castleford and they capitalized on this with
a few scrappy goals that gave the final score as 9-0 to Castleford
which didn't reflect the gutsy performance put in by United.
Wakefield however can keep their heads held high with a tremendous
team effort and a spirit that Castleford couldn't dampen.

SOUTH ELMSALL
SUNDAY 28TH OCTOBER 2007 - HOME
United gave the home team a run for their money in a scrappy game
at times resulting in a 7-3 win for South Elmsall. A full squad
for the first time this season saw United slowly begin to find
their feet and really start to gel as a team. Connor Playford got
United off to a great start with a super strike past the South
Elmsall keeper. Good effort also from Daniel Clarke, Taylor
Bottomley Lewys Irvin and keeper Cameron Dye. Robert Bottomley
was next on the score sheet with a fabulous lob over the top of
the keepers head from the half way mark. Good performances also
came from Matthew Peel, Bhavin Patel and Jake Tolson with Robert
Jukes managing a solid header into the back of the net to bring
United's tally to 3. The player of the match was awarded to Joe
Howard for a splendid performance throughout. United were unlucky
at times not to hit the target but the team have high hopes and
expectations for the future.
