EMPIRE COLTS

WAKEFIELD UNITED
SUNDAY 4TH
NOVEMBER
2007 – AWAY
Empire Colts were quick off the mark and slotted two past
Wakefield within the first 10 minutes. However in true
Wakefield United style their determination and spirit shone
through as they came back to draw level with two super strikes
from Matthew Peel. United fielding only 10 men then managed to
hold Empire Colts until a minute before half time when the hosts
just edged another bringing the score to 3-2 to Empire. During
the second half Bhavin Patel gave a super defensive performance
as per usual with Cameron Dye making some excellent saves.
Lewys Irvin continues to improve game on game with Robert
Bottomley and Robert Jukes giving 100% effort once again. Tired
legs soon began to show for United though and Empire Colts
capitalized on the extra man firing a few more shots home.
Wakefield United however can be mightily proud of this
performance with Cameron Dye being awarded the Player of the
Match - well done once again boys. The final score was Empire
Colts 7 Wakefield United 2.

EMPIRE COLTS
SUNDAY 11TH NOVEMBER 2007 - HOME
Wakefield United set off at a good pace and were putting together
some great passes however unable to finish on target their
frustration soon became apparent and Empire Colts took full
advantage. The only goal for Wakefield came from Robert
Jukes after a corner was awarded, with Empire Colts managing a
final score of 13. For the home side some excellent performances
came from Daniel Clarke, Jake Tolson and Joe Howard. Defensive
wise Bhavin Patel gave a sturdy performance and keeper Cameron Dye
was superb. A gutsy team effort however from all the lads with
Robert Jukes and James Murphy relentlessly running the length of
the pitch. Matthew Peel, Connor Playford and Robert Bottomley also
gave their all but the player of the match was awarded to Lewis
Irvine for his undying enthusiasm and non stop tackling.

ROTHWELL JUNIORS

WAKEFIELD UNITED
SUNDAY 18TH NOVEMBER 2007 - AWAY
Again with only 10 men Wakefield United put up a good effort
against the home team Rothwell Juniors in bitterly cold
conditions. Wakefield seemed to be holding Rothwell in the first
half but the cold set in during the second half and weary legs
offered Rothwell the game on a plate. Connor Playford sent a
super ball forward for Robert Jukes to skillfully knock into the
back of the net. The next two goals for Wakefield were brilliant
volleys again from Connor Playford. Improving week by week Lewys
Irvine had a great game in midfield with Joe Howard, James Murphy
and Bhavin Patel also impressing. Defence wise Daniel Clarke
excelled with good performances also from Robert Bottomley, Jake
Tolson and keeper Cameron Dye. The scoreline unfortunately did
not reflect the amount of effort put in by United however a good
team effort by all the lads. The joint player of the match was
awarded to Daniel Clarke and Connor Playford.

ST JOSEPH'S
SUNDAY 25TH NOVEMBER 2007 - HOME
Fielding a full side for the first
time this season Wakefield United started off well but
unfortunately were no match for a well drilled St. Josephs.
Debutant players Jamie Clark and Josh Couser played well giving
100% effort with excellent performances also from Daniel Clarke
and Lewys Irvine. United however are still in their infancy of 11
a side football and it showed today although the players still
remain optomistic with no doubt the only way is up. Good efforts
also came from keeper Cameron Dye and striker Matthew Peel. Joe
Howard was the only scorer for United which came from a scrappy
encounter at the visitors goal mouth with the final tally being
11-1 in St. Josephs favour. The GBM Construction Player of the
Match was awarded to Jake Tolson for some excellent balls through.
