7TH OCTOBER 2007 - AWAY
Wakefields first
loss came at the hands of Vision Juniors in this Huddersfield
League match. Wakefield set of to a poor start with Vision soon
winning a corner, which saw the only goal of the game going in
just beating the keeper. Wakefield battled back with better
passing and more shots at goal than Vision. The 2nd
half saw Wakefield attacking from the off with 80% of the match
being played in Vision half, shots from Jack Alton, Luke Asquith,
George Crowcroft, Dion Gibson and Cameron Gollings being stopped
by the keeper and a strong defence. The match finished 1 nil to
Vision Juniors. The AML player of the match went to Joe Holman.

WYKE WANDERERS B
SATURDAY 13TH OCTOBER 2007 - HOME
Wakefield United
hammered Wyke Wndr’s in this Huddersfield League match with Jack Alton
quickly blasting 2 past the keeper. Wyke dug deep and soon scored but
quick passing from Luke Asquith and Cameron Gollings saw George
Crowcorft hitting the back of the net. Wakefield carried on attacking
and some strong passing from Cameron Gollings, Luke Asquith and Dion
Gibson saw Jack Alton set up to earn his hat-trick. The 1st
half finished 4 – 1 to Wakefield.
The 2nd half
saw Dion Gibson beat the keeper 3 times to earn himself a hat-trick,
again Wakefield were all over Wyke with shots from Joe Holman, Luke
Asquith and Cameron Gollings all being denied. In the last minutes of
Jack Alton scored again to finish the match 8 – 1 to Wakefield. The
AML player of the match went to Luke Asquith.

Y.M.C.A. B's

WAKEFIELD UNITED
SUNDAY 21ST OCTOBER 2007 - AWAY
Wakefield travelled
well in this Huddersfield League match against Y.M.C.A ‘B with strong
attacking and sound passing from George Crowcorft, Jack Alton and
Cameron Gollings quickly saw Dion Gibson set up for his hat-trick in
the 1st half. Wakefields defence of Luke Asquith and Liam
Gaffney kept any real danger well away from keeper Joe Holman. The
first half ended 3 - 0 to Wakefield. Y.M.C.A came out much stronger in
the 2nd half with them passing much more quicker but with
Luke Asquith in the net and Joe Holman out in defence, Wakefield where
soon attacking and a smart pass from George Crowcroft saw Jack “The
Birthday Boy” Alton hitting the back of the net. More passing from
Cameron Gollings and George Crowcorft saw Dion Gibson grab his 4 goal
in this match. Y.M.C.A was awarded a penalty late on but Luke Asquith
denied them a goal to end the match 5 – 0 to Wakefield. The AML player
of the match went to Jack Alton.

YORKSHIRE LIONS
SATURDAY 28TH OCTOBER 2007 - HOME
Wakefield United easily saw off the visiting Yorkshire Lions in this
Huddersfield League match, an early strike from Dion Gibson soon had
Wakefield a goal. With quick passing from Cameron Gollings and
George Crowcroft saw Jack Alton blast one in to end the 1st
half 2 – 0 to Wakefield. Things in the 2nd half couldn’t
set off any better with Jack Alton scoring a goal within the first
10 seconds of play. George Crowcroft soon had 2 goals hitting the
back of the net for Wakefield. Wakefields defence of Joe Holman and
Jacob Alton never came under any real pressure from the visitors,
with keeper Luke Asquith having a quiet game. Jack Alton quickly got
another goal to earn his hat-trick, shots from Cameron Gollings and
Joe Holman would just not go in. In the last minutes of play Dion
Gibson beat the keeper to grab a late goal, to end the match 7 – 1
to Wakefield. The AML player of the match went to Cameron Gollings.
