Wakefields
cup run came to an early end at the hands of Silkstone, in
this hard fought match. The only goal came from Silkstone
after their broke from a Wakefield corner to beat the
keeper. Wakefield kept on applying the pressure with
countless shots at goal from Dion Gibson, Jack Alton, George
Crowcroft and Cameron Gollings. The 2nd half was
a repeat of the 1st half with Wakefield having
most of the play only to be denied by the keeper or the
cross bar. The A.M.L player of the match went to Cameron
Gollings.

SUNDAY 18TH NOVEMBER 2007 - AWAY
Visiting
Wakefield United soon had the upper hand against Gomersal &
Cleckheaton in this Huddersfield League match, scoring a
massive 7 past them. The first one to score was Cameron
Gollings. Plenty of passing from George Crowcroft, Elliot
Brown and Luke Asquith saw Jack Alton grab his 1st
goal. With Wakefield on the attack Leyton Davies who was in
goal had to make no saves in the 1st half. Shots
from George Crowcroft and Elliot Brown would just not go in.
Wakefield carried on attacking forcing corner after corner
which gave Jack Alton his 2nd goal to end the 1st
half 3 – 0 to Wakefield. The 2nd half carried on
where the 1st half left off, with Jack Alton soon
hitting the back of the net again. Passing from Cameron
Gollings saw Elliot Brown blast one past the keeper. A great
solo run from George Crowcroft saw him beat the keeper to
grab a goal. Gomersal tried to answer back but Liam Gaffney
and Leyton Davies kept danger at bay, forcing 2nd
half keeper Luke Asquith only to make a couple of saves.
Well timed passing from Cameron Gollings and George
Crowcroft saw Jack Alton grab his 4th goal. The
joint AML player of the match went to Jack Alton and Luke
Asquith.

DEWSBURY RANGERS B
SUNDAY 25TH NOVEMBER 2007 - HOME
Wakefield United quickly took control of this Huddersfield
League match against Dewsbury Rangers, with Jack Alton soon
blasting one past the keeper. Quick passing from Cameron
Gollings and Dion Gibson saw George Crowcroft hit the back
of the net. Wakefields defence of Joe Holman and Liam
Gaffney kept Dewsbury at bay with keeper Luke Asquith having
at quiet first half. Shots from Jack Alton and George
Crowcroft where denied by the keeper but Dion Gibson grabbed
a late goal to finish the 1st half 3 – 0 to
Wakefield. The 2nd half saw a much stronger
Dewsbury come out, and start to attack Wakefields goal and
they soon won a goal. Passing from Elliot Brown and Kieran
Bush saw Jack Alton and Dion Gibson shoot at goal only to
hit the cross bar. It was Wakefields Cameron Gollings who
stuck a long range shot to beat the keeper. The joint AML
player of the match went to Cameron Gollings and Dion
Gibson.
