SUNDAY 10TH FEBRUARY 2008 - HOME
Free scoring Wakefield had the run of the game in
this Huddersfield League match. Leyton Davies was the first to
score quickly followed by goals from Jack Alton, George
Crowcroft. Rastrick made no attempts at Wakefields goal in the
first half, with Kieran Bush and Luke Asquith both pushing
forward. Wakefield carried on attacking and Cameron Gollings was
the next to score. George Crowcroft was awarded a penalty only
to be denied by the keeper. A long ball from Cameron Gollings
set Luke Asquith up as he stuck one past their keeper to end the
1st half 5 – 0 to Wakefield. Things remained the same
in the 2nd half with passing from all players saw
Jack Alton grab his second, with Wakefield attacking Rastrick
saw them score an own goal. Leyton Davies quickly got two more
goals to get him his hat-trick. Shots from Elliot Brown and Liam
Gaffney were just wide of the mark. George Crowcroft quickly
bagged another 2 goals to earn him his hat-trick. A late penalty
was awarded to Liam Gaffney only for the Rastrick keeper to
save. This finished the match 11 – 0 to Wakefield, the A.M.L
player of the match went to Leyton Davies.

CLECKHEATON
SUNDAY 24TH JANUARY 2008 - AWAY
A magnificent 7 from Wakefield saw them breeze past
Gomersal & Cleckheaton in this Huddersfield league match. Things set
off well for Wakefield with Luke Asquith beating the keeper to grab
the first goal. Wakefield kept on applying the pressure with well
placed passing from Luke Asquith and Jack Alton, which saw George
Crowcroft and Leyton Davies both grab a goal each. Wakefield’s
defence of Liam Gaffney & Kieran Bush kept any danger well at bay
from new player Jamie Denton in goal. The 1st half ended
3 – 0 to Wakefield. The 2nd half set off much better for
Gomersal & Cleckheaton with them attacking more in the first 5
minutes of play, but 2nd half keeper Leyton Davies
stopped them. Wakefield fought back and George Crowcroft bagged
another goal, with that Wakefield was soon all over them and forced
corner after corner which saw Kieran Bush blast one past the keeper.
More quality passing from Luke Asquith and George Crowcroft saw Jack
Alton hammer one past the keeper. More shots followed from George,
Luke and Jack only to be denied by their keeper. In the last few
minutes of play George Crowcroft beat the keeper to give him his
well deserved hat-trick. The match finished 7 - 0 to Wakefield, the
joint A.M.L players of the match went to Jack Alton and George
Crowcroft.
