Directions to Shelley’s Pitches

Take the A636 Denby Dale road out of Wakefield.  Follow this road past the Cedar Court Hotel and eventually passing through Clayton West and into Denby Dale itself.  Once in Denby Dale turn left onto Miller Hill (Cornerstone’s is on the corner).  You will eventually come to a staggered crossroads where you need to turn left onto the A635 Barnsley Road and then right onto the B6115 Lower Denby Lane, signposted Penistone.  Stay on this road which bears left onto Denby Lane entering Upper Denby (you will see the George pub in the centre of the village).  Remain on this road until you come to a T-junction where you need to turn left onto the A629 Huddersfield Road.  After approx. 100 yards turn right onto Wellthorne Lane.  Further up the lane you will come to the Fountain Inn.  Park at the rear of the Inn or on the side of the road, but please do not park in front of the pub!!  The pitches can be found down a track at the back of the pub.
