Head out of Wakefield on the A636
in the direction of Denby Dale. Stay on this road passing through Denby Dale
and Upper Cumberworth and you will eventually come to a junction with a garage
on your right and the Sovereign pub opposite. Take the (A635) signposted
Holmfirth/Manchester and follow this road for approx. 3 miles. The road drops
down into New Mill. Just before the next junction (with the Duke of Leeds pub)
turn right and you will see the White Hart pub on your left (as you turn). You
are now on the A616 heading for Huddersfield. Remain on this road which
eventually becomes a series of chicanes. 800 yds after the last bend there’s a
zebra crossing and you then need to bear sharp left passing between the
Berrybrow Liberal Club and the Laxima (Indian) restaurant. Take the next left
and you will pass over a hump back bridge">

turn left taking you up a steep hill which passes through a wood. As you come
out of the wood take the 1st left and then the 1st right.
Approx. 200 yds on your right you will see the pitches at Hawkroyd Bank. If you
get to South Crosslands School, you have gone too far!!
