Heckmondwike Town

Take the A638 out of Wakefield in the direction of Dewsbury, eventually travelling down the steep hill into Dewsbury itself.  At the bottom of the hill you need to remain on the A638 now signposted Halifax.  Remain on the A638 eventually passing Dewsbury and District Hospital on your left.  At the crossroads with the Butcher’s Arms go straight through the lights.  After approx. 200 yards you will see a car sales garage on your left and you need to turn right opposite the garage into Common Road.  Continue along Common Road  and go straight ahead at the next crossroads.  Remain on this road for ¾ of a mile and you will see Leeside Community Primary School on your left.  Take the second turning right onto Smithies Moor Lane and after approx. 150 yds you will see the playing fields on your left.  Park up on the main road.
